AEW President Tony Khan has commented on Ronda Rousey’s status following her surprise appearance at Friday’s ROH taping.
Rousey made her debut under the Tony Khan banner at the November 18 ROH taping, where she teamed with Marina Shafir to face off against Billie Starkz and ROH Women’s Champion Athena.
While a rivalry between Rousey and Athena has been teased, it has been reported that Rousey hasn’t officially signed with AEW or ROH.
Tony Khan confirmed this in the Full Gear media scrum, noting that he and Rousey have had a ‘great conversation’.
Khan explained:
“She is not signed, but we had a great conversation. It came about because there was some unfinished business.
“Ronda was happy to come here. She was great, the crowd was really excited to see her, and it was a great match.”
Rousey’s ROH tag-team bout was a rematch, with the four stars previously facing of on that Thursday’s Wrestling Revolver show.
This original match ended in a no contest after Athena attacked Rousey with the ROH Women’s Title belt.
Rousey has now commented on this independent appearance, which you can read more about right here.
