Trick Williams has reacted to the announcement that Carmelo Hayes will be representing NXT in the US Title tournament on SmackDown.
WWE has shared a video of Shawn Michaels announcing that former NXT Champion Carmelo Hayes will be the eigth member of the tournament currently underway to determine Logan Paul’s next title challenger.
Trick Williams has now taken to Twitter to share the official announcement.

Williams recently earned a major opportunity for himself, winning the Iron Survivor Challenge at NXT Deadline 2023.
Trick Williams is now the #1 contender to Ilja Dragunov’s NXT Championship, which he will challenge for at NXT New Year’s Evil.
Carmelo Hayes had previously teased his participation in the US Title tournament, sharing a photo of himself with John Cena’s version of the US Championship belt.
Hayes has received a lot of praise over the years from notable names, including Shawn Michaels.
The former NXT Champion has wrestled several times on the main roster, most recently against Finn Balor on the June 26 edition of Raw.
Carmelo Hayes appears to be set to face Grayson Waller in the first round of the US Title tournament on this week’s (December 15) edition of SmackDown.
It was previously announced that Waller would face the mystery NXT star on this show.
