A pair of WWE stars have returned on tonight’s WWE SmackDown after having been absent from television for over six months.
On tonight’s pre-taped edition of WWE SmackDown (December 22), there was a ‘Holiday Havoc’ match featuring Bianca Belair, Michin, Zelina Vega and Shotzi taking on Damage CTRL with plenty of holiday hijinks throughout the bout.
One such moment saw the Kabuki Warriors (Asuka and Kairi Sane) take pause at two big crates that were wrapped as gifts.
Seemingly gleefully opening the crates thinking they were full of weapons to use against their foes, instead they contained something much spookier!
The former NXT Tag Team Women’s Champions Alba Fyre and Isla Dawn popped out from the crates and attacked the Kabuki Warriors.
While this marks Fyre and Dawn’s first appearance in front of the crowd on television since their loss back in June 2023 to Shayna Baszler and Ronda Rousey, they have been active in both SmackDown dark matches and WWE house shows in the interim.
Of course there was an instance of the pair appearing by way of vignette several months ago however their in-person return never came to fruition on television.
Elsewhere on tonight’s WWE SmackDown, there was a big announcement about the upcoming WWE ‘New Year’s Knockout Week’ to kick off 2024. You can click here to read more about that.
