Sting has been presented with a prestigious wrestling award ahead of his upcoming retirement at AEW Revolution.
The wrestling icon is set to call it a career at AEW Revolution in March, and he has been on a retirement tour of sorts over the past few months, including a victory over Powerhouse Hobbs and Konosuke Takeshita on last night’s Dynamite Homecoming show.
Ahead of his retirement at Revolution, Sting has now been awarded a prestigious award by Pro Wrestling Illustrated.
Taking to Twitter, PWI shared that Sting had received the honor of being awarded the Stanley Weston Award for Lifetime Achievement in pro wrestling, which is the highest honor awarded by PWI.
Other names who have previously won the award include Stone Cold Steve Austin, Ric Flair, Antonio Inoki and Dusty Rhodes.
Sting’s opponents in his final match at AEW Revolution were seemingly revealed on last night’s Dynamite show, which you can see here.
AEW has announced the launch of a new Sting commemorative EP ahead of his retirement.
