Kevin Owens has commented on the possibility of a WWE feud between him and CM Punk, following their previous interaction.
Following CM Punk’s return to WWE in November 2023, he and Kevin Owens found themselves face to face in a backstage segment on the December 8 edition of SmackDown.
With Owens’ frosty reception, fans began to speculate about the possibility of a full on Punk vs Owens rivalry.
Speaking with India Today, Owens admitted that he can see some similarities between himself and the ex-WWE Champion, noting:
“We’re both guys that probably, you know, have done things their own way, in a sense. But there’s probably a lot that we’re very different on as well, so I think it’s a little bit of both.”
Believing that it’s inevitably that he and Punk will share the ring one day, Owens said:
“I’m sure we’ll end up in the ring together at some point. It seems, uh, like there’s no way we wouldn’t.”
Both stars will be in action at Saturday’s (January 27) Royal Rumble premium live event, with Punk set to wrestle on WWE TV for the first time since 2014, in the men’s Rumble match.
Kevin Owens is slated to challenge for Logan Paul’s United States Championship on the same card.
The planned match order for the Royal Rumble premium live event has now been revealed, which you can read more about right here.
