WrestleMania 40 quickly went from one of the most anticipated events in recent memory – with numerous main event calibre dream matches, to a complete question mark with a dark cloud of uncertainty hovering above it.
While that may be a little dramatic, the injury to CM Punk and implication of Brock Lesnar in the recently filed Vince McMahon lawsuit has in-turn caused significant changes needing to be made to the ‘Mania card.
The latest reporting on the matter has been that WWE are considering several brand new card variations, with stars who were previously not planned to play major roles now potentially being given pushes as a result.
It remains to be seen how far WWE do indeed go with this, but the prospect of new stars being pushed is an intriguing prospect.
But who could potentially be set to benefit from the WrestleMania creative chaos? Let’s take a look at 7 stars who could perhaps be most likely.
7. GUNTHER
It feels kinda strange placing GUNTHER here considering that he, along with Seth Rollins have been harmed the most by the forced WWE changes.
According to reports The Ring General was set to finally receive the match that he and pretty much everyone else had been salivating over for years – a one-on-one bout with Brock Lesnar.
Now, obviously this looks almost certain not to happen this year, or potentially ever. So, it’s hard not to feel for the Austrian, who’s position in a marquee match on the card may now be under threat.
Despite that setback however, there is a chance that WWE instead merges the two scrapped matches into one and has themselves a title vs. title showdown with Seth Rollins at WrestleMania instead.
If that happens, then GUNTHER will have in fact found himself in a much bigger spot due to the creative changes. However, his current travel restrictions that see him unable to attend Elimination Chamber may result in him missing out on that opportunity.
