WWE stars Julius and Brutus Creed have teased character changes after losing their opportunity to compete at WrestleMania 40.
The Creed Brothers were in action on Monday’s (March 18) Raw episode, facing off against Johnny Gargano and Tommaso Ciampa in a qualifying bout for the upcoming WWE Tag Team Title Six Pack Ladder match.
Gargano and Ciampa were ultimately victorious, punching their tickets to WrestleMania on April 6-7.
Julius and Brutus commented on their loss during a WWE Digital Exclusive interview after the show.
Noting that it’s time for them to deliver on their potential, Julius said:
“The goal isn’t to come up here and continue to make statements. The goal was to come up here and headline WrestleManias. That’s always been the goal, that’s been the goal since we were eight years old.
“I went to Duke University right down the road from here. I’ve won matches in this arena, so as cool as it was tonight to hear all of those people cheering, it would’ve been ten times cooler to be at WrestleMania this year, which was our goal.
“We sat two years ago at the Cowboys stadium and said ‘hey, we’re going to be there next year’. Last year we sat at SoFi and said next year we’re gonna be there, again. Guess where we’re not, we’re not at WrestleMania this year. The job didn’t get done. I don’t know where to go from here, I guess… I guess it feels like it always has.
“This happened in high school, we weren’t the most successful when we first got to high school but we continued to lace the shoes up, show up day after day and continued to get better. College was the exact same thing.
“I wasn’t winning out of the gate, he wasn’t winning out of the gate, but like the morals and the values our parents instilled in us, lace the boots up day after day. It’s time to start delivering, it’s time to get the job done. You’ll see us at WrestleMania next year.
