A new report has revealed who will be featured from WWE NXT in this year’s 2024 WWE Draft on April 26 and 29.
On the April 8 WWE Raw After WrestleMania 40, the company announced that the 2024 WWE Draft will begin on the April 26 edition of SmackDown and finish on the April 29 episode of Raw.
This announcement was made after NXT Champion Ilja Dragunov made his main roster debut against Shinsuke Nakamura and confirmed that Dragunov will be eligible for the Draft. Then on the April 9 edition of WWE NXT, SmackDown’s The Final Testament and Raw’s Ivar made surprise appearances.
This has led to many question marks as far as NXT’s role in the WWE Draft, with one being the possibility of main roster stars being drafted to NXT.
Per Corey Brennan of Fightful Select (subscription required), sources close to the NXT creative process have indicated that this is not just a tease, with The Final Testament and Ivar’s appearances setting the stage for other main roster stars making the jump during the WWE Draft.
This is going to be part of a renewed focus to present NXT as the third brand of WWE once again.
It remains to be seen how many stars may make the move from Raw and SmackDown to NXT during the WWE Draft at the time of this writing.
WrestleTalk will provide any further updates on NXT’s involvement in the WWE Draft when they become available.
