The real reason why WWE chose to send Bron Breakker and Baron Corbin to separate brands in the WWE Draft has been revealed.
With Breakker and Corbin losing the NXT Tag Team Championship earlier this month, it had been speculated that the duo would both be drafted to the same main roster brand in the 2024 WWE Draft.
This ultimately didn’t happen, as it was revealed on the April 26 edition of SmackDown that Breakker had been selected by Raw, and Corbin drafted to SmackDown.
Per Fightful Select, WWE drafted Corbin and Breakker to different brands because they see Breakker’s potential as a major singles star.
Ahead of forming a team with Baron Corbin, Breakker held the NXT Championship twice. During Breakker’s second reign, he unified the NXT Title with the NXT UK Championship after defeating Tyler Bate at Worlds Collide 2022.
Breakker and Corbin joined forces in January 2024. They went on to win the Dusty Rhodes Tag Team Classic at February’s Vengeance Day special.
The duo then won the NXT Tag Team Championship on the February 13 edition of NXT TV, which they held for 55 days.
