Yet another WWE ID departure has been confirmed, with Jimmy House (known in WWE as CJ Valor) taking to social media to confirm he’s no longer a part of the program.
Two years on from its inception, the WWE ID program has recently come under scrutiny after several of its most talented names confirmed their departures.
Former WWE ID Women’s Champion Laynie Luck, Marcus Mathers, Sam Holloway, Santi Rivera and former WWE ID Men’s Champion Cappuccino Jones all exited the program within the past two weeks, with the latter confirming that he decided to part ways with the company.
Now, we can add Jimmy House’s name to that list, as the independent standout – who joined the WWE ID program in March of this year – took to Twitter on October 20 to confirm his exit after speaking with Fightful Select.
Expressing his gratitude to WWE’s coaches and those he formed bonds with during his time in the program, House wrote:
What a phenomenal time it was wrestling on Evolve and learning from so many amazing coaches in WWE.
Incredibly grateful for the friendships built, memories made and lessons learned. Excited to see what the next chapter has in store for me 🙌🏽
As always thank you to all the wrestling fans for your support. It’s always extremely humbling to have you guys root for me regardless of where wrestling takes me.
Thank you to @SeanRossSapp for having me on for an interview with @FightfulSelect and allowing me to share some of my story on your platform 🏠💪🏽
House has been competing on the independent circuit since 2023, with appearances for the likes of ROH and Reality football Wrestling under his belt.
WWE Hall of Famer Mark Henry took to Twitter earlier this month to express his bemusement as to how a major company hadn’t yet signed House to a contract, writing:
I have no idea why this guy is not signed to a major deal! In every category, he is a plus.
As well as competing in the ring, House also works as a strength and conditioning coach, with Goldberg, Ricky Saints and AEW’s Dustin Rhodes among his client list.
The WWE ID program becoming harder to justify as another talent leaves the program without an NXT contract
The conversion rate of WWE ID talent eventually signing NXT deals is incredibly low, with only The Vanity Project (Jackson Drake, Brad Baylor & Ricky Smokes), Sean Legacy, EK Prosper & Jack Cartwheel signed to contracts after progressing through the program.
Chazz “Starboy” Hall appears to have a good chance of becoming the next on that list, but it’s honestly hard to say that with full confidence given how many talented names haven’t been signed.
It’s also harder to get excited when new ID signings are announced as it has proven to be far from a guarantee that a full-time WWE deal is coming their way afterwards.
House paints a positive picture of the program, so it seems it is a worthwhile experience when it comes to gaining exposure and working with some of the experienced names in the WWE system, but to the average fan the ID program appears to just be an unnecessary extra step to signing a talent to a developmental deal.
Perhaps this perception will be turned around in due time with the likes of Monica Monroe and Conan Lycan signing WWE ID deals, but it’s not hard to understand why some in WWE are questioning the program.
