Predicting the winning of the Royal Rumble can often be an easy task (everyone knew Batista and Roman Reigns were going to win in 2014 and 2015). However, WWE has been known to throw in a curveball on occasion.

Because of injuries causing a shake up to the WWE roster and future booking plans, picking a winning of the 2019 Royal Rumble is not quite so simple this time.

If we were going with a “safe” option then AJ Styles would be the man to back. The former WWE Champion was scheduled to wrestle Brock Lesnar at Survivor Series until just days before the event when he lost the title to Daniel Bryan.

AJ has unfinished business with The Beast. Given he has been SmackDown exclusive for over two years, it may be time for a shake-up. If Styles wins the Rumble and topples Lesnar for the Universal title at ‘Mania, the whole complexion of WWE changes overnight. That’s not a bad thing.
