10 FTR Matches You NEED To Watch

7. The Revival vs. Kyle O’Reilly & Bobby Fish – NXT TV (November 20, 2019)

There are perhaps no two teams who have defined NXT better than The Revival and Undisputed Era. Their times in NXT missed each other by just a few months and thus we never got to see a rivalry between them. Thankfully, on a rare one-off appearance, they managed to clash on NXT TV.

The Revival had been stuck on the main roster doing little of consequence for almost three years and fans were restlessly waiting to see them tear it up again. In a wonderful little treat, two of the best teams of the last decade squared off on November 20, 2019. It was about as great as you would expect and a reminder that The Revival were capable of so much more than they were being allowed to show.

6. FTR vs. The Butcher & The Blade – AEW Dynamite (June 10, 2020)

FTR was introduced into All Elite Wrestling at the end of May and by mid-June, they were in the ring. Their first opponents were The Butcher and The Blade. These two burly mean men were a perfect way to introduce FTR to this audience and showcase their style with no restrictions.

FTR showed just how creative they were with fantastic offense and reinvigorated fire. They weren’t quite babyfaces or heels but rather two badass technicians who could outwrestle anyone on the roster. As a first match in AEW, they hit the ground running and concluded the match by introducing their new piledriver finish.

5. FTR vs. Kenny Omega & Hangman Page – AEW All Out 2020

In one of the biggest dream matches of the year, FTR finally got their shot at the AEW World Tag Team Championship. They had played mind games with Hangman Page leading up to the match and this continued well into the match itself.

A fantastic match built on storytelling and FTR’s ground and pound style, the partnership between Page and Kenny Omega fell apart before our eyes. Had this match not taken place in a pandemic, this would have undoubtedly placed higher. A great match nonetheless, FTR continued to prove their worth in their post-WWE run.

4. The Revival vs. DIY – NXT Takeover: Brooklyn II

The Revival was defined by their rivalry with DIY in 2016. The best tag team wrestling seen in WWE in decades, these two teams tore it up on back-to-back Takeovers. NXT Takeover: Brooklyn II was the first of their two matches. The Brooklyn crowd desperately wanted to see DIY win the tag team titles but to do that they had to beat The Revival.

As many teams found out in NXT, that was no easy feat. The Revival fought hard and ended up focusing on the damaged knee of Johnny Gargano. Despite DIY having the match won on more than one occasion, The Revival managed to pull off the win by submitting Gargano with a devastating knee bar. Not only was this a great match, but it made you want DIY to win the rematch that much more.
