10. Kurt Angle vs. The Rock – No Way Out 2001
Angle walked into No Way Out 2001 as the WWF Champion, determined to face ‘Stone Cold’ Steve Austin at WrestleMania X-Seven the following month. The only problem with his plan is that it involved facing The Rock at No Way Out.
The Rock was set on reclaiming the WWF Championship and he did so in a top notch main event. The match was not perfect, as a bizarre run-in by the Big Show and a botched finish from Earl Hebner throw off the flow of the match, however the crowd was engaged throughout. After a back-and-forth affair, The Rock nailed Angle with two Rock Bottoms and picked up the WWF Championship.
This would leave Kurt Angle out of the WrestleMania X-Seven main event, however he found something else to keep himself occupied…
