10 Potential WrestleMania 37 Opponents For John Cena

2. The Fiend and Randy Orton

The Fiend and Randy Orton don’t seem to be done with one another. Using Alexa Bliss as a supernatural middle-woman, the two former WWE Champions are having a unique feud on Raw.

An unpredictable turn would be to add John Cena to this feud. The returning star has history with both competitors, so the veteran wouldn’t feel out of place if the story was told right.

Cena’s last WWE match was at WrestleMania 36, where he was destroyed by Bray Wyatt’s Firefly Fun House match. This was revenge for Cena pinning the star in New Orleans six years prior.

Possibly Cena’s greatest ever rival, Orton last faced The Champ one-on-one on an episode of Smackdown in 2017. This was intended to be a warm-up for their WrestleMania 33 encounter, but ironically Bray Wyatt won Cena’s WWE Championship before The Show of Shows, so took his place in the title match.

With the potential to be one of the most unique matches in WWE history, a three-way match between these three forces would be pure chaos.

1. Roman Reigns

John Cena and Ric Flair are tied with the most recognised WWE World Championship reigns in history, at 16. If Cena was to win a 17th world title, he would become the most decorated champion in WWE history.

With victories over the likes of Braun Strowman, Kevin Owens and Drew McIntyre, Roman Reigns has been dominating the locker room. The Tribal Chief is bent on destruction, tearing apart anybody standing in his way.

The Leader of the Cenation battled The Big Dog at No Mercy 2017. Coming up short to the former Shield member, this bout saw Cena pass the torch to Reigns, before transitioning into being a part-time star.

Both competitors are have changed significantly since 2017. A rematch, with Cena returning to destroy what he created, would be an intriguing choice for the 16-time champion.

WrestleMania 37 will be one of the more unusual iterations of The Show of Shows. While the event will most likely be memorable, this potential contest could make this year’s ‘Mania unforgettable.
