2. Gran Metalik
Tensions within Lucha House Party are at an all-time high.
We could be about to witness this trio of luchadors head their separate ways. It would be interesting to see Gran Metalik show US audiences what he’s truly capable of.
Fans of CMLL and NJPW know the full potential of the ‘King of The Ropes’. In 2016, Metalik advanced all the way to the final of the Cruiserweight Classic, a fitting introduction to Metalik’s abilities.
With over 15 years of lucha-libre experience, Metalik has proven himself as a golden competitor. A WWE or Universal Championship match would be well deserved.
1. Mustafa Ali
Oh what could’ve been…
On the road to Elimination Chamber 2019, Ali was injured, forcing him to pull out of the WWE Championship Chamber match. He was replaced by Kofi Kingston, who capitalised on his opportunity, subsequently winning the WWE Championship at WrestleMania 35.
‘KofiMania’ was very bittersweet. While Kingston ultimately made history on the ‘Grandest Stage of Them All’, Ali lost out on a life changing opportunity.
The odds have always been stacked against Ali, who had been turned away from tryouts for not having ‘the look’. He made it into the Cruiserweight Classic as a last minute substitution, and has been wowing WWE audiences ever since.
His tenacity has caught the eye of both Triple H and Daniel Bryan during his short time in WWE. A high calibre competitor, endorsed by former WWE Champions, Mustafa Ali has more than earned a bout with one of WWE’s top champions.
