WWE
On Sunday, June 28, WWE NXT will hold their first premium live event on The CW Network with The Great American Bash 2026.
This event already has an intriguing lineup with potential title changes and scores being settled, but on a jam-packed weekend in pro wrestling, the brand may also need to deliver some memorable moments with some notable returns.
From stalwarts of the brand making a comeback to main roster talent needing a refresh or reps, these stars could leave a major mark with this historic event that can alter the landscape of WWE NXT.
Here are six potential returns at WWE NXT Great American Bash 2026.
6. Josh Briggs

Josh Briggs last wrestled in WWE TV at the April 27 Main Event taping, where he lost to Otis
When looking at the WWE NXT roster, one of the most tenured stars on the brand is Josh Briggs.
Making his debut in 2021, Briggs has become a dependable talent with an impressive combination of size and athleticism that made him stand out on the independent scene to sign with WWE in the first place.
However, Briggs has been out of action for two months after a series of losses.
If the WWE main roster is not what’s next for him, Josh Briggs could make a significant return to NXT at the Great American Bash 2026 and insert his name back in the mix on the brand.
5. Wendy Choo
Over the past year, Wendy Choo has made her home on the Evolve brand and has made an entertaining evolution of her character.
This all led to Choo winning the eight-woman Gauntlet Match to win the vacant WWE Evolve Women’s Championship on the April 15 edition of Evolve.
Now after showcasing a brand new version of herself and winning gold, it would be interesting to see Choo interact with the NXT women’s division more in a similar fashion to her predecessor, Kendal Grey.
With a fresh new look and personality, Choo might finally be able to break the glass ceiling that has seemingly been on her since signing with WWE NXT.
4. Los Garza (Angel & Berto)

Los Perros Del Mal reformed in AAA for the first time in over a decade on the June 20 episode of AAA on FOX, attacking El Grande Americano
On the June 20 edition of AAA on FOX, the new version of Los Perros Del Mal made their re-debut with Karmen Petrovic, Angel, Berto, Daga and Bronco Nima.
With Nima being a regular part of NXT with O.T.M., it would be intriguing to see what happens to this longstanding partnership after Bronco’s decision in Mexico.
Despite not always getting TV time, Los Garza should get the chance to shine as one of the most underutilized tag teams in the company.
To also highlight AAA on WWE TV, it makes sense to have Los Garza return to NXT where they would add a lot to the tag team division right now.
3. Adriana Rizzo
Adriana Rizzo has been out of action for over a year, after announcing that she suffered a torn ACL and meniscus in August 2025.
Prior to her injury, Rizzo was one of the most featured female stars on WWE NXT as a member of The D’Angelo Family.
Now with everyone moving on from the group, including NXT Champion Tony D’Angelo, it will be quite telling to see how Rizzo is used as a singles star when she makes her return.
After nearly a year on the shelf, Rizzo may emerge as a star who has a chip on their shoulder to prove themselves as a prominent star on NXT following a return at The Great American Bash 2026.
2. Elio LeFleur
After suffering a torn labrum on a NXT live event, Elio LeFleur has been on the sidelines for the past few months.
The masked Frenchman was looking like one of NXT’s fastest rising stars after winning the Speed Men’s Championship soon after his debut.
Wanting to immediately insert him into an important role, WWE NXT could have LeFleur make his return on their historic show on June 28.
LeFleur getting a highlighted moment with a return at NXT Great American Bash 2026 would be huge for his career and show why this injury was just a setback for him moving forward.
1. Ilja Dragunov

Ilja Dragunov held the NXT Championship for 206 days in 2023-2024
Ilja Dragunov seemed like someone who was destined for WWE main roster success after his excellent run on the NXT brand.
The former NXT and NXT UK Champion has been someone who has always left his mark with his amazing in-ring ability and has showcased that several times over the past two years on the main roster.
Despite having a memorable run with the United States Championship at the end of 2025, “The Mad Dragon” finds himself not currently featured consistently on Friday Night SmackDown since losing the title.
With his significant legacy on the brand, Dragunov could make a return to NXT where he could have a similar second run to that of Finn Balor and immediately get into the main event picture at The Great American Bash 2026.
