With the WWE Hall of Fame Class of 2026 inductees set to be announced in the lead up to WrestleMania 42, there are already some reasonable guesses.
From legendary stars that are rumored to be returning to the company next year to an induction that was announced but didn’t come to be – there are some interesting initial ideas.
Here are seven possible WWE Hall of Fame 2026 inductees.
7. John Cena

An obvious choice to eventually join the WWE Hall of Fame is John Cena.
With John Cena set to wrap up his in-ring career in December 2025, it could be that he is headed straight for the Hall of Fame class of 2026.
A shoo-in for future induction, it could be that coupling the WWE Hall of Fame induction of Cena with his recent retirement could be a way to continue to honor his legacy – while also drawing fans back in for WrestleMania 42.
Whether or not Cena will elect to be inducted into the WWE HOF in 2026 or would prefer to defer the nod until a future date remains unclear but certainly his contributions can’t be minimized.

6. Chris Jericho

Industry legend Chris Jericho is one notable omission from the current WWE Hall of Fame despite his clear contributions.
After departing WWE in 2018, Jericho would go on to perform in NJPW before signing as one of the first announced members of the AEW roster in 2019.
While Chris Jericho is still under contract with AEW, reports have his current contract expiring with Tony Khan’s company at the end of December 2025.
Potentially meaning that Jericho could become a free agent on January 1, 2026, WWE fans could possibly see him make a return to action or be inducted into the HOF class of 2026.

5. Matt & Jeff Hardy

A pair of WWE legends who could be making their way back to the company are the Hardy Boyz, Matt & Jeff Hardy.
While the duo remain signed to TNA Wrestling for the time being, the pair have been vocal about the fact that their current deal with the company ends in November 2025.
Furthermore, it seems that both Matt & Jeff Hardy are hopeful for an eventual return to WWE as they have noted a desire to return to the company before retirement.
With both seemingly set for induction into the WWE Hall of Fame one day, it could be sooner rather than later should the pair re-sign with WWE.

4. Batista

Another WWE fan favorite who has departed wrestling for the bright lights of Hollywood is Dave Bautista.
While Batista was first announced to be planned to be inducted into the WWE Hall of Fame back in 2020, the induction would end up delayed due to the pandemic.
While scheduling conflicts have prevented Batista from being able to accept the honor of the past few years, perhaps something could be worked out for 2026.
With Batista having made sizeable contributions to WWE during his tenure in the company, his work deserves to be acknowledged.

3. Chyna

Although technically a repeat induction, the posthumous individual induction of Joanie ‘Chyna’ Laurer is long overdue.
Sparking the imaginations of an entire new generation of fans, many of today’s female wrestlers credit Chyna for being an inspiration on their careers.
While already inducted into the WWE Hall of Fame as a member of DX, fans continue to lobby for Chyna to be inducted as her own singles star.
With the inclusion of her work in the faction being an important part of her history, there was also major storylines with Eddie Guererro as well as breaking barriers like becoming a 3x Intercontinental Champion are deserving of their own recognition.

2. Brian Pillman

One posthumous induction that continues to be brought up with each passing year of inductees is Brian Pillman.
Having made notable contributions to professional wrestling, it would be nice to see the WCW and WWE alum get inducted into the WWE Hall of Fame.
Pillman’s kids including NXT star Lexis King have been vocal about the fact they are hopeful that Pillman will someday be included in the WWE Hall of Fame.
With WWE doing more than ever to blur the lines between fiction and reality in storytelling, perhaps the time is right to honor a storied figure in regards to keeping kayfabe.

1. The Rock

Arguably the biggest mainstream star to be launched by WWE is future Hall of Famer, Dwayne ‘The Rock’ Johnson.
Depending on what the future holds for the Final Boss in WWE, inducting The Rock into the WWE Hall of Fame class of 2026 could end up being an important storyline for TV not just an achievement.
While his eventual induction seems to be certain, Dwayne ‘The Rock’ Johnson may elect to delay any induction in order to align with potential future stories.
With The Rock still potentially eying a match against Roman Reigns or even a singles bout against Cody Rhodes down the line, the timing of when The Rock is back could be sooner rather than later.
