On October 21, a new report revealed that Dragon Lee had officially re-signed with WWE.
After weeks of speculation, Lee will be settling in with the company for a long time and could be set for some major matches in the future.
Lee facing some first-time opponents at the top of the card could make for some intriguing directions for the luchador moving forward.
Here are five potential Dragon Lee WWE first-time opponents.
Sami Zayn
2026 has been a banner year for the current Undisputed WWE Champion Sami Zayn.
“The Last Real Good Guy” has captured the top prize in the company on two occasions in recent months and been a prominently featured star on SmackDown.
Dragon Lee is someone who can offer a different kind of matchup for Zayn at this time.
Zayn defending the title against Lee would easily be one of the biggest matches of the luchador’s career up this point and should be remembered quite fondly as a result.
Drew McIntyre
Since WrestleMania 42, Drew McIntyre has been absent from WWE programming.
“The Scottish Warrior” has had a very busy schedule working on several different films over the past few months.
Recent reports have indicated that McIntyre could be on his way to Monday Night Raw when he makes his return.
Facing off with a talented in-ring performer like Lee might be a fresh, new rivalry for McIntyre to have when he makes his way back into the fold.
Seth Rollins
Another recently absent WWE star who could come back to become a first-time opponent for Dragon Lee is Seth Rollins.
After losing to Roman Reigns for the World Heavyweight Championship at WWE SummerSlam 2026, Rollins has been away from the company’s television.
For years, Rollins has been known as one of the best in-ring performers in the company.
Rollins clashing with Dragon Lee would make for an exciting first-time ever meeting that could be a potential Match of the Year candidate.
CM Punk
Another Friday Night SmackDown star who could face Dragon Lee sometime soon is CM Punk.
Since making his return to WWE, Punk has faced a who’s who from the roster, including Kevin Owens, GUNTHER and Finn Balor for the first time.
Lee is someone who can give Punk a different kind of challenge inside the squared circle.
Lee has the chance to become “The Best In The World” with a win over Punk that could further elevate him up the card in a meaningful manner.
Roman Reigns
On the September 14 edition of Monday Night Raw, Roman Reigns defeated Penta to retain the World Heavyweight Championship.
Showing instant chemistry, Reigns and Penta put on one of the best WWE matches of 2026.
Seeing how well he worked with one luchador could lead to Reigns squaring off with another in the form of Dragon Lee.
Getting an opportunity at the World Heavyweight Championship, Lee would have the opportunity to put his name on the map in a similar fashion to Penta if he were next to challenge “The OTC” for the gold.
