Botchamania: Botches of the Week #13

1. Bottoms Up

Carmella vs. Asuka was one of the many sub-seven minute matches that clogged Extreme Rules and ensured the show lasted longer than The Godfather Part II so I don’t blame you if you missed this match like Asuka missed this move. It’s been a while since we’ve had a good ”Didn’t get all of it” on commentary so cheers Carmella.

2. A Clockwork Oversight

The main event of Extreme Rules ended up being the Thirty Minute Iron (Lead?) Man Match between Dolph Ziggler and Seth Rollins, which was a surprise considering it was for IC Title and involved Ziggler.

Having a luke-warm feud with an attention-demanding match stipulation in front of a burn-out crowd inevitably meant the crowd started making their own fun by counting down with the timer on the TitanTron and singing the EHHHHHH noise like it was the Rumble. Eventually this started overshadowing the match so someone in the back disabled the timer . . . causing the crowd to chant it even more.

Both wrestlers’ frustrations were caught on camera as Ziggler bemoaned the lack of clock causing MORE chants. In fairness to Dolph, it’s been a while since he’s heard a crowd making noise.

3. Better To Reign In Hell Than Serve On SmackDown

Nakamura won the U.S. Title from Jeff Hardy in a Victory Road 2011 length match which must have surprised one of the tech monkeys as the title in the graphic clearly showed Reigns’ nameplate on his newly-won title.

Luckily someone else other than a nerd with too much time on his hands noticed this and re-edited it for SmackDown.

These are the things that keep me up at night.

It’s Zero-1 and I sadly have no details other than it’s Mr. Yuuki Miyamoto vs. Chris Vice, but yeah.

Hey, while we’re here enjoy another crazy indie puro moment courtesy of DDT.

And here’s some CZW to end the week and to remind you all that botches come and go but that little Philly indie will out-live us all.

I’ve been Maffew and following me on Twitter will do nothing for you.
