4. The Rock Gets Taken Out By The Bloodline – Cody Rhodes Steps In
The Rock simply stepping away seems like a bit of a harsh pivot, so maybe if WWE wanted to remove The People’s Champ from the equation – while also motivating that future match with Reigns, they could have The Bloodline forcefully take him out.
Either at the Press Event itself, or an episode of SmackDown, Reigns could direct an attack on his cousin in as brutal a manner as possible – writing him off for the rest of the Road to WrestleMania.
Seeing this, Cody could decide to redact his decision to not challenge Reigns and do so at the request of an injured Rock.
This would be pretty weak, transparent and given the current negativity towards Rock, would likely result in more cheers and adulation that boos and sympathy – but it is one way for WWE to hit the undo button on the entire mess.
