6. Shane McMahon vs Braun Strowman (WrestleMania 37: Night One)
McMahon’s most recent, and potentially final, WrestleMania match. Where to even begin with this. I will give this match one thing, it was nowhere near as bad as it should have been.
The feud heading into this match, I will not hold back in saying, was absolutely dreadful. Shane McMahon cut possibly one of the worst promos in the history of Raw, where he rambled about how stupid Braun Strowman was, while also saying absolutely nothing of significance.
The following weeks consisted of your basic WWE bad comedy segments, where Shane showed off Braun’s “report card” and had him doing other things to test how smart he was. This led to Strowman challenging Shane to a Steel Cage match at the show.
Strowman was ambushed by Shane’s allies Elias and Jaxson Ryker prior to entering the cage, with Shane gaining access to a Steel Chair as a way to not make the visual of him beating up Braun look ridiculous.
Shane had Strowman beat when Strowman pulled apart a side of the Steel Cage, before tossing Shane off the top and hitting a Powerslam to get his revenge on him.
A match that should have been awful based on the build up, it was kept fairly short and produced the right pay off to the story, so it ended up being relatively harmless.
