Next AEW Death Riders Leader After Jon Moxley

Since officially forming in 2024, The Death Riders have been one of the most dominant factions in All Elite Wrestling.

Led by Jon Moxley, the group have went from one of the hated groups to one of the most enduring and popular factions in all of wrestling.

Ahead of his AEW World Title match against Will Ospreay at All Out 2026, there has been some doubt being expressed by different Death Riders members in Moxley’s leadership that may lead to him being usurped at his spot in the group.

Here are seven next potential AEW Death Riders leader after Jon Moxley.

7. PAC

PAC has proven himself as one of the best on the AEW roster since the inception of the company.

Joining The Death Riders, PAC has been loyal to Moxley and never expressed outward doubts towards him.

Moxley’s association and bond with Will Ospreay became the first time that PAC was not sure about The Death Riders leader’s decision-making.

“The Bastard” taking over The Death Riders makes a ton of sense and would give a new dynamic to the entire faction moving forward.

6. Claudio Castagnoli

Since the start of The Death Riders, Claudio Castagnoli has been a general for the stable.

Standing right by Jon Moxley’s side, Castagnoli has brought a level of leadership to the faction.

Back in the 2025 Continental Classic tournament, Castagnoli defeated Moxley, showing that he could get the better of his stablemate.

Thanks to that win and his veteran experience, Claudio might be the best option within The Death Riders to take over leadership of the stable.

5. Daniel Garcia

In 2025, Daniel Garcia joined The Death Riders after a series of losses to Jon Moxley.

After joining the faction, Garcia has proven himself as a loyal member who has followed in the footsteps of Moxley.

Whether it be teaming with the likes of Wheeler Yuta and Claudio Castagnoli or representing the group on his own, Garcia has embodied everything that The Death Riders stand for.

Considering his growth since joining the stable, Garcia could shock everyone by becoming the newest leader of The Death Riders.

4. Wheeler Yuta

When The Blackpool Combat Club was first created, Wheeler Yuta proved himself to the group after going toe-to-toe with Jon Moxley.

After spilling blood against Mox, Yuta has become a protege of the former four-time AEW World Champion that seen him go from the BCC to The Death Riders.

While Yuta has felt like the lowest man on the totem pole of the group, it feels like a full circle moment if he eventually becomes The Death Riders leader.

Yuta coming into his own to take over The Death Riders would be quite fitting for his story in AEW.

3. Marina Shafir

Since The Death Riders started, there is an argument that Marina Shafir has gained the most from the stable.

“The Problem” has been under the Jon Moxley learning tree and showed true growth as a performer.

While she is still learning, Shafir has established herself as an enforcer for the stable.

Moxley handing over the reigns of The Death Riders to Marina Shafir would feel like a natural progression of their relationship.

2. David Finlay

In February, David Finlay made the jump to All Elite Wrestling, reuniting with Gabe Kidd and Clark Connors to form The Dogs.

The former Bullet Club War Dogs members have been closely tied to The Death Riders thanks to Kidd’s relationship with Jon Moxley.

However, Finlay and Connors questioned Gabe listening to the orders of Moxley on the September 12 episode of AEW Collision.

With this established tension, Finlay could be convincing enough to take over The Death Riders and remove Moxley from the group he created in a similar fashion to what he did with The Bullet Club to Jay White in New Japan Pro Wrestling.

1. Gabe Kidd

In 2025, Gabe Kidd made his way to All Elite Wrestling and became the mercenary for The Death Riders.

While he was a member of The Bullet Club War Dogs in NJPW, Kidd showed himself to be loyal to Jon Moxley.

Viewing him as a mentor, Gabe has gained guidance from Moxley on his journey in All Elite Wrestling and done his bidding at times.

After his recent run-ins with Will Ospreay and being stopped on his way to attacking the AEW World Champion by his mentor, Gabe Kidd may just have enough and snap to the point that he completely takes out Moxley to take over The Death Riders.
