NJPW star Robbie X says he’s happy for his former Bullet Club War Dogs stablemates David Finlay, Clark Connors & Gabe Kidd, following their move to AEW.

Now known as The Dogs, David Finlay, Clark Connors and Gabe Kidd all signed with AEW in March of this year, having all previously served as members of Bullet Club War Dogs in New Japan Pro-Wrestling.

With Bullet Club merging with Unaffiliated and being reborn as Unbound, NJPW star Robbie X, a member of the War Dogs in his own right, recently spoke to SonaIsLife about the fortunes of his former teammates, saying:

“I’m happy for them. We’re now part of Unbound (Robbie X & Drilla Moloney), so yeah, I’m happy for them.

“They’re clearly doing great things over there. Gabe obviously just came back at Dominion and forced himself on the show. I don’t know how Dan (Drilla) feels about that, but obviously, Clark and Finlay have got a championship match at Forbidden Door.

Kidd returned to NJPW at Dominion, attacking IWGP Global Heavyweight Global Champion Shota Umino, with the AEW star having been out of action due to injury since Dynasty in April of this year.

Robbie X is no stranger to AEW, having last competed at Forbidden Door in August of last year, teaming with Connors and Moloney in a losing effort for Bullet Club War Dogs against The Opps (Katsuyori Shibata, Powerhouse Hobbs & Samoa Joe) on the Zero Hour pre-show.

The Rise Of Robbie X

A 31-year-old star who has been an active wrestler since 2007, Robbie X is perhaps one of the youngest veterans on the independent wrestling scene today, having a nineteen-year career to date.

A hugely popular and immensely talented star on the independent wrestling scene, particularly in his native United Kingdom, Robbie X was recently called “the best junior heavyweight for the last four years” by AEW’s Will Ospreay, a star well-versed in that particularly category of performer.

A former IWGP Junior Heavyweight Tag Team Champion (with Taiji Ishimori), Robbie X was first associated with Bullet Club War Dogs in 2025, although had NJPW appearances to his name prior to that moment. Bringing him into the legacy of the Bullet Club demonstrated the view that NJPW management had of the star, with his recent run in CMLL further solidifying his standing on the international stage.

With Robbie X continuing to be prominently positioned in NJPW and now a feature of CMLL, it can only be hoped that the star finds a place in AEW, particularly thanks to the relationship between all three companies. Opportunities exist for the star to demonstrate his mettle against a plethora of AEW stars, particularly someone the caliber of Will Ospreay, with the pair being no strangers to each other over the past ten-plus years.
