Daniel Garcia has sent a message to Swerve Strickland ahead of his Owen Hart Foundation Tournament Final Match at AEW Forbidden Door 2026.

The June 10 episode of AEW Dynamite saw Swerve Strickland book his spot in this year’s Men’s Owen Hart Cup final, setting up a rematch from Forbidden Door 2024 against Will Ospreay.

While it was Strickland who bested Ospreay two years ago, in the eyes of most fans Will heads into Forbidden Door as the favorite, not only because this year’s All In will once again emanate from his backyard in London (and the winner of the Owen Hart Cup will receive a World Title Match at the event), but also because he has Jon Moxley and the Death Riders in his corner.

This was evidenced on this past Wednesday’s AEW Dynamite, as the Death Riders came out to assist Ospreay when Strickland bore down on him with a steel chain, leading to Strickland to tell his old rival that he had “changed.”

In an AEW Digital Exclusive interview, the Death Riders’ Daniel Garcia stepped up to warn Strickland that he could be responsible for running him off his road to an AEW World Title shot at All In London.

Garcia said:

“First Dynamite of 2024 it was Swerve Strickland vs. Daniel Garcia. And this was supposed to be a showcase, it was supposed to be a rising of the two new young faces that was gonna push this company forward. And one of us did.

“Swerve, you won that match and you won a lot of matches. You won the World Title and you main evented Wembley Stadium. Now I just see you and you’re a different guy. You’re drunk off power, you’re high and mighty, and you’ve become a disgusting, despicable human being. But you’re not alone in that, because I’m all the same.

“If you think this is just gonna be a pebble on your road to Wembley Stadium, you’re wrong. I’m a shard of glass on the road, and you’re gonna Swerve right off the road to Wembley.”

Marina Shafir would then chime in, not mincing any words, she said:

“Whose house? Pu**y.”

Following these choice words from Garcia and Shafir, it was confirmed by AEW that Daniel Garcia and Swerve Strickland will go one-on-one on the June 24 episode of AEW Dynamite.

While Garcia does not currently have a match scheduled at AEW Forbidden Door, his mentor Jon Moxley does, as he defends the AEW Continental Championship against current ROH World Champion Bandido.

Elsewhere, the Women’s Owen Hart Foundation Tournament will be decided between last year’s winner Mercedes Moné and Maya World, with the latter pulling off a major upset win over ROH Women’s World Champion Athena on the June 20 episode of Collision.
