General Managers are officially back in WWE.
After three years of Adam Pearce serving as a WWE official for both Raw and SmackDown, Pearce will now go on as solely the General Manager of Raw.
In his place, a fellow former NWA World Champion, Nick Aldis, will serve as the General Manager of SmackDown.
Aldis is set to make his mark in WWE as the blue brand’s GM, and there are many ways that he could do that.
Here are 7 things Nick Aldis could do as the SmackDown General Manager.
7. Announce Brand vs. Brand For Survivor Series
When Aldis was announced as the GM for SmackDown, he told Adam Pearce that he was looking forward to the competition between his brand and Pearce’s.
That line was said on WWE television just over a month before Survivor Series, which used to be the one night a year when Raw and SmackDown go head to head in direct competition.
In recent years, brand vs brand at Survivor Series lost a lot of it’s charm.
However, with established rosters and now a new authority at the head, perhaps it could make a return this year.
The reward could be free trades from the losing brand, which could be a way to get Cody Rhodes over to SmackDown before WrestleMania next year.
