WWE
Roman Reigns racked up his fifth successful World Heavyweight Championship defense when he defeated LA Knight at WWE Money in the Bank.
With “The Megastar” seemingly now heading to the back of the queue once again, it appears as if Oba Femi is ready to step up to challenge “The OTC” based on his comments during the Money in the Bank post-show.
Reigns vs. Femi has WrestleMania 43 written all over it though, so expect both men to be dragged away to other feuds before they eventually meet in the ring for the first time.
Here are three stars Roman Reigns must meet inside the ring before he eventually takes on Oba Femi at WrestleMania 43:
Royce Keys
With LA Knight now in the past and Femi coming in the future, Roman Reigns will be in need of a new rival to potentially keep him busy for the remainder of the year.
While a champion vs. champion match with Sami Zayn at the November 7 Crown Jewel PLE should occupy Reigns for the next month, eventually he’s going to have to get his hands dirty and get involved in The Bloodline’s war with Royce Keys’ 946.
A Bloodline vs. 946 battle will most likely on the cards for WarGames at Survivor Series on November 28, and if Keys’ crew come away from that match with a win, then one would think the former Powerhouse Hobbs will be in line for a one-on-one World Heavyweight Title opportunity.
Perhaps taking place at WWE Wrestlepalooza on December 12, Reigns vs. Keys should bring an end to the rivalry before 2027 arrives.
Penta
Less than a month after taking Roman Reigns to the limit in Mexico City on WWE Raw, Penta now has himself a golden ticket to a rematch with “The OTC” in the form of the Money in the Bank briefcase.
Penta has made no secret that he wants another shot at Reigns, but it’s difficult to see where a cash-in works if WWE are planning to have Reigns remain unbeaten until he takes on Femi at WrestleMania 43.
Penta may very well target Sami Zayn’s Undisputed WWE Title instead, but the danger in doing that is it would potentially make Penta look weak for dodging Reigns.
Whatever way it comes around, Penta vs. Reigns is a match that few would argue about seeing again, given the quality of their first meeting.
Drew McIntyre
If Roman Reigns really wants to right the wrongs of his first championship reign, there is one man he must face in a fair one-on-one match: Drew McIntyre.
McIntyre was among the biggest victims of The Bloodline during Roman’s four-year title run, as he was denied a cathartic first world title win in front of a live crowd when he took on “The Tribal Chief” in Cardiff, Wales at Clash at the Castle 2022.
That screw job, which came about when a debuting Solo Sikoa prevented McIntyre from pinning Reigns, has remained lodged in the memory of “The Scottish Warrior” and pretty much fuelled his 2023 heel turn.
McIntyre has yet to receive a rematch with Reigns, and it would be criminal if the pair don’t meet before Roman drops the title to Femi.
