6 Matches WWE Could Still Book For Royal Rumble 2024 WWE

Traditionally due to the event’s two titular match-ups, the Royal Rumble Premium Live Event doesn’t tend to feature that substantial of a match card.

This coupled with Triple H’s penchant for keeping his PLE’s trim and without filler, would seemingly suggest that the card’s current line-up of four matches may be indeed all we get on January 27.

If true this would be particularly light, and considering the 2023 Rumble gave us five matches, one would expect WWE may still make and addition or two in the next few weeks.

This is especially obvious when you take a look at WWE’s product at present, with several ongoing storylines that could feasibly lead to matches inside St Petersburg, Florida’s Tropicana Field.

So join us in counting down seven matches WWE could still book for WWE Royal Rumble 2024.

6. Seth ‘Freakin’ Rollins VS. Jinder Mahal – World Heavyweight Championship

I don’t think there’s anyone on God’s green who would have possibly foresaw Jinder Mahal becoming the most talked about man in all of wrestling just a few weeks ago.

After spending the better part of two years either off TV or playing a manager to Indus Sher all of a sudden Mahal has himself a World Heavyweight Championship match with Seth Rollins on this week’s Raw (January 15).

Now, I write this before that match has taken place so please ignore this entry if Rollins proceeds to squash Mahal before taking a  vay-cay on January 27, BUT… What if considering Mahal’s boom in popularity, WWE made this more than one and done?

It feels quite strange to be approaching a PLE as grand as the Royal Rumble and not have Rollins featured whatsoever and as far as I and anyone can see, there’s few other options for opponents presenting themselves.

So why not give Mahal a non-finish on Raw (potentially via McIntyre or Priest interference) and then a rematch at the Rumble? Don’t hinder Jinder Triple H. Capitalise on this lightning in a bottle and give the people what they want.
