WWE Matches Of The Week #6

NXT
Kairi Sane vs. Lacey Evans

The rubber match for this feud between Kairi Sane and Lacey Evans has done well to truly showcase the latter as she was able to bring out some more innovative offensive maneuvers. One of which, although it was missed, was a 180-degree jump from the second to top turnbuckle before performing a picture perfect Moonsault. Sane followed up the mistake with multiple Interceptors which looked great and brought so much fire to the bout as she always does.

The ‘Pirate Princess’ has been a brilliant opponent for Evans as the pair make their way up the NXT ladder. They have both shown skill and the ability to create a series of well-constructed and well-received matches. As competition for Shayna Baszler is rather thin on the ground, these two will definitely be in the running following NXT TakeOver: Chicago II.

NXT
Danny Burch vs. Roderick Strong

During his face run, I never really connected with Roderick Strong like I should have. Now, however, he is a beacon of brilliance. He can go with anyone and he can sell like no one else. With Danny Burch and Oney Lorcan on the rise, all of the Undisputed Era have done well to make them look great. That is not to say they aren’t already, but when you hit as hard as they do, you need someone to really get it across on the other side.

This match was built on Burch beating the life out of Strong before a bit of interference caused a struggle. Classic heel work from the faction led to a sneaky win and the feud rolls on. Matches like this just prove that quality is much more precious than quantity.
