WWE Matches Of The Week #6

205 Live
Lince Dorado vs. The Brian Kendrick

The jump in match quality from the standard main roster to 205 Live is astounding. Even the lesser matches on the purple brand outshine their respective red and blue counterparts. This one was no different as it delivered in all the usual ways.

Gulak sat on commentary being amazing as always while the rest of the Lucha House Party watched on from ringside. Lince really got the chance to shine here against his veteran opponent and hit his lovely handspring cutter for the victory. You can really tell every member of the 205 Live roster has been given so much freedom to wrestle in their own style.

205 Live
Mustafa Ali vs. Buddy Murphy

These two are incapable of having a bad match. Fact. Every time they step into the ring together they think of new and creative ways to take the life out of each other and it’s a genuine thing of beauty to behold.

Murphy was a constant roadblock, killing Ali’s momentum in bullish ways, taking chops like it was nothing and yanking his opponents head back when he attempted to go for the ropes. Ali hit some fierce shots as well but took a nasty looking drop on to the top turnbuckle which was fantastic.

Considering the story of this bout was to determine who should be the next challenger for Cedric Alexander’s WWE Cruiserweight Championship, both men really went above and beyond to get their argument across.

I’m also pretty sure Murphy’s neck is pure steel because he takes so many nasty spikes. An Inverted-Rana that should’ve hospitalized him was followed up by Ali’s signature X-Factor to the apron. I truly fear for the Australians spine. Oh, did I mention the turnbuckle to outside tornado DDT that Murphy also took? It looked like it sucked.
