WWE Money in the Bank takes place on October 10, with a number of firsts for competing stars in New Orleans.
With five matches on the card, the WWE PLE will open with Roman Reigns defending the World Heavyweight Championship against LA Knight.
Elsewhere on the PLE, the men’s and women’s Money in the Bank ladder matches will take place, and Stephanie Vaquer will defend the Women’s World Championship against Liv Morgan and Becky Lynch. Oba Femi and Bronson Reed are also set for singles action.
Among the familiar PLE faces, for many of the stars involved, Money in the Bank will be a first for them:
First-time Money in the Bank ladder match
With a line-up including CM Punk, Bron Breakker and Penta, this year’s ladder match sees Je’Von Evans and Trick Williams make their first appearances
For the women’s ladder match, Sol Ruca, Jacy Jayne, Lola Vice, and Lash Legend are also all making their debuts, with Tiffany Stratton and Roxanne Perez having had one outing each in 2024 and 2025, respectively.
First-time ladder match
Trick Williams isn’t a fan of heights and recently spoke about his unique training for Money in the Bank, having never competed in a ladder match.
First-time WWE Money in the Bank appearance
Alongside Evans, Williams, Ruca, Jayne and Legend, Oba Femi and Bronson Reed are making their first appearances on the PLE.
First-time championship defense at Money in the Bank
For the first time, Stephanie Vaquer will be defending the Women’s World Championship at Money in the Bank, having previously competed in last year’s ladder match.
First-time singles match at WWE Money in the Bank
For LA Knight, his upcoming match against Roman Reigns marks the first time he has competed in singles action at Money in the Bank, having featured in the titular men’s ladder match since 2023.
Firsts for the WWE World Heavyweight Championship match
Multiple firsts in one match, with Roman Reigns and LA Knight crossing paths in singles action for the first time since Crown Jewel in 2023, marking the first time they’ve opened the event in singles action.
It’s also the first time that Roman Reigns has opened the show since being in the titular men’s ladder match in 2015.
Many more first-time moments to come
WWE Money in the Bank could offer more first-time moments, depending on the outcome of many of the matches at the PLE.
Plans go beyond such moments, however, with WWE Crown Jewel set to take place on November 7 and Survivor Series: WarGames on November 28.
Roman Reigns has been confirmed for both PLEs, along with a number of episodes of Raw through to next month, no doubt setting up his next move after Crown Jewel.
