A new update has emerged regarding Seth Rollins’ WWE return after over two months away from television.
Fans haven’t seen Seth Rollins wrestle on WWE programming since his SummerSlam 2026 Night Two main event with Roman Reigns on August 2, with “The Visionary” completely missing the build to this Saturday’s Money in the Bank premium live event.
Although he has been off TV, Rollins has been semi-active in the ring over the past month, as he competed in four six-man tag team matches during WWE’s South American tour in September, and is being advertised for a dark match at tonight’s SmackDown in Lafayette, Louisiana where he will team with LA Knight and Solo Sikoa against 946’s Royce Keys, Lucien Price & Bronco Nima.
Given Rollins’ activity, fans have assumed that his absence from WWE programming is strictly a creative decision, but according to Dave Melter in the latest Wrestling Observer Newsletter this not strictly the case.
According to Meltzer, Rollins has what was called a “minor injury” but could be called upon to return at any point, however, WWE’s idea is to wait for “maximum impact”:
Rollins has what was called a minor injury so they are giving him time to heal up, but he could be back if needed now or soon and the idea is to bring him back for maximum impact when it is right at this point.
It was not specified what these plans could be, or what specific injury Rollins has been dealing with.
We will provide further updates on Seth Rollins’ WWE return when they arise.
What else is left for Seth Rollins to do on WWE Raw?
With Seth Rollins already definitively wrapping up his feuds with both Roman Reigns and The Vision this year, it’s certainly difficult to see where he fits in on Monday Night Raw without re-entering either’s orbit once again.
Sure, Rollins could maybe team with Reigns for the first time since 2019, but it feels like the way they wrapped up their story at SummerSlam was perfect, and having them do any more, especially so soon afterwards, could taint that a little.
He could also team with Oba Femi against The Vision, but again, is there any fan that is desperate to see Rollins involved with Bron Breakker and company again at this point?
While SmackDown is more stacked than ever with top talent, a move to the blue brand would give Seth a path forward towards a seventh world title, which he certainly wouldn’t have on Raw.
Admittedly he would be likely retreading familiar ground if he meets CM Punk, Sami Zayn or GUNTHER, but none are quite as fresh as his past feuds on Raw.
