We now know both Becky Lynch and Liv Morgan will be challenging Stephanie Vaquer for the Women’s World Championship at WWE Money in the Bank.
Tonight’s WWE Raw played host to what was set to be a #1 contender’s match between Lynch and Morgan to determine which of them would go on to challenge Vaquer at MITB on Saturday.
However, it ended in a non-finish, and Vaquer ended up requesting a three-way match instead, in which she will put her title on the line against both former champions.
The case for Liv Morgan
Of the three, Liv Morgan is probably the outsider and least likely to win the Women’s World Title at Money in the Bank.
Morgan was champion from April to September, winning the title from Vaquer at WrestleMania, and then losing it back to the Chilean at a non-televised event during the WWE South American tour.
Morgan’s reign was heavily criticized due to her lack of defenses in that time, which was in part due to a Vaquer injury that changed some plans, but didn’t exactly endear the fans to her.
It’s not impossible she wins, as Roxanne Perez could win Money in the Bank to create the next chapter of the Judgment Day saga, so that in itself is a very good reason.
It just doesn’t feel like the timing is right for Morgan to be champion again right now though.
The case for Becky Lynch
Becky Lynch is a seven-time WWE World Champion, but it’s a title she hasn’t held for about two and a half years.
Instead, she’s spent much of 2025 and 2026 involved in the Women’s Intercontinental Championship picture, helping to establish the credibility of that title with her feuds against the likes of Lyra Valkyria, Maxxine Dupri and AJ Lee.
With her having done a pretty good job of that, she now finds herself back where she belongs, which is in top title contendership instead of the midcard division.
With Lynch having spent so long with and around the IC Championship – and it being so long since she was World Champion – it might be time for her to reclaim that distinction.
Really, the ideal direction coming out of Money in the Bank would be a one-on-one feud between Vaquer and Lynch, and Lynch winning the title here would be a good catalyst for that.
The case for Stephanie Vaquer
Ultimately, the result that should probably happen at WWE Money in the Bank is Vaquer retaining the Women’s World Title.
Now in her second reign as champion, Vaquer only won the title under a month ago in a match that wasn’t even televised, so it would be a bit disappointing for her to lose it so soon.
Vaquer has proven to be a successful investment and has paid back WWE’s faith in her to elevate her to the top of the women’s division as quickly as the company did after her main roster debut last year.
All in all, Vaquer is the favorite to pick up the win, and rightfully so.
