After losing to El Grande Americano at WWE AAA Noche de los Grandes, the Original El Grande Americano unmasked and reintroduced himself as Chad Gable.

Gable stated that he’d return to AAA one day, having competed for the brand in five matches as his masked persona.

In several interviews since then, Gable has reflected on his run with AAA, noting that The Undertaker and Jeremy Borash helped him to “cut loose” and find himself as a performer during his sting in Mexico.

While he currently holds the Intercontinental Championship on Raw, fans are wondering when we will next see Chad Gable in AAA.

Here are three potential directions for Chad Gable’s AAA return.

Worlds Collide crossover appearance

Following its acquisition of the Mexican promotion in 2025, WWE  revived the “Worlds Collide” event and rebranded it as a showcase of talent from both its main roster and AAA.

There have been three Worlds Collide events since June 2025, with the most recent show headlined by CM Punk, Rey Mysterio and El Grande Americano vs Dominik Mysterio, Omos and JD McDonagh on September 30 (taped September 26).

Given that Chad Gable headlined the June 2025 Worlds Collide event against El Hijo del Vikingo, it’d be a full-circle moment to see him compete at a future iteration of the event.

With Chad Gable currently focusing on his WWE Intercontinental Title reign, a Worlds Collide appearance would allow him to perform in front of AAA fans again, even if it is only for one night.

Facing Dominik Mysterio

Chad Gable has faced off against Dominik Mysterio on numerous occasions, both under his current moniker, and as the Original El Grande Americano.

With his masked persona challenging for Dirty Dom’s AAA Mega Championship on the May 11 edition of Monday Night Raw, we could see a rematch take place in front of a Mexican crowd.

This bout could be a non-title singles encounter, or a rematch for the AAA Mega Championship if Dominik defeats El Grande Americano to win back the gold at Heroes Inmortales on October 24.

This bout could also be for the Intercontinental Championship, a title which Dominik Mysterio has already held twice.

El Grande Americano rematch

With many fans and wrestlers alike calling the Mask vs Mask match at Noche de los Grandes a match of the year contender, it would make a lot of sense to see the two stars run it back.

Both “Americanos” have had pretty parallel careers since this match, with Chad Gable winning the WWE Intercontinental Title at SummerSlam, and El Grande Americano defeating Dominik Mysterio for the AAA Mega Championship at Triplemanía 34.

Whether it’s for one, both, or even no titles, a Chad Gable vs El Grande Americano match would definitely get the wrestling world talking.
