Did this make sense? The Bloodline & 946 take a turn on WWE Raw

The 946 have it in for The Bloodline, causing some questionable choices to be made on this week’s WWE Raw that may not make total sense.

The September 21 episode of WWE Raw saw Solo Sikoa attempt to make amends with The Bloodline, only to rethink his plan when it comes to acknowledging The Usos and Roman Reigns.

The rethink would have implications later on, with Sikoa unable to compete in the men’s Money in the Bank qualifying match, being replaced by Penta who would go on to be victorious.

There’s a number of story beats on this one episode of WWE Raw that don’t quite gel as efficiently as they perhaps could:

“Turn Around”

Having rejected The Usos suggestion of acknowledging The Bloodline’s authority, Solo Sikoa would follow the advice offered, returning to “the drawing board” having failed to bring his siblings back together to tackle their common enemy.

Jacob Fatu would make it clear that a mistake had been made by handling the situation, even though Jey Uso made excluded the Samoan Werewolf from the instruction that Sikoa should be acknowledging selected members of The Bloodline.

This was fine in itself, leaving Sikoa without any support from his brothers and The Bloodline in general, making him a prime target for the 946 later in the show.

The Abduction

How did Penta end up replacing Solo Sikoa in the men’s Money in the Bank qualifying match? Well, that would be because the 946 abducted Sikoa. Adam Pearce did turn up later, demanding the police, going on to change up the match in the wake of Sikoa’s absence, despite Dominik Mysterio hoping he had won by forfeit.

More curious, despite being all “turn around” to Sikoa earlier in the show, The Usos and Jacob Fatu would be on hand to chase the car after Solo Sikoa was loaded into it, with Royce Keys, Lucien Price and Bronco Nima making a quick exit with their quarry.

The cameras cut away from Sikoa’s entrance video playing to the car park, with it being clear what was about to happen. Around twenty seconds later, The Usos and Fatu would appear, attempting to retrieve their abducted star as the car headed off towards the exit. Even LA Knight would be baffled, turning up after the abduction had taken place, and asking questions of his own.

Descent In The Bloodline

Without Roman Reigns present as a calming force, the relationship between The Usos and Jacob Fatu was somewhat fraught. The Samoan Werewolf clearly has issues with The Usos, and this will hopefully play into the future of The Bloodline.

Going from “go away” to “where’s he gone?” in the same episode feels like a misstep for The Bloodline, particularly given that their earlier interaction suggested that Sikoa was very much on his own, without the backup of his siblings.

What Happened Next?

In the wake of the abduction, Royce Keys tweeted “one by one by one“, sharing footage of what happened with Sikoa after he was taken. Describing it as “never been about family, it’s about loyalty” and pointed out what The Bloodline had done to lead to the current situation.

Thankfully, Keys would let Sikoa go, sending him on his way with his face covered, with the 946 driving away from the scene of the crime.

Recovering From All This

The 946, particularly Keys, have demonstrated that they mean business, with a dangerous edge to the faction realized with their love of setting things on fire.

The Bloodline are equally capable of dangerous acts, yet that didn’t seem to be the case on this week’s WWE Raw. It wasn’t even a case of a fight-or-flight instinct, with Jacob Fatu being the reasonable one when it comes to what was going down.  Indeed, Jey Uso was pretty emphatic in what he expected Sikoa to do, almost comedically so.

The feud is no doubt building towards a huge match, potentially at Survivor Series: WarGames on November 28, and hopefully there’ll be weeks of hunter/prey dynamics that don’t feel as uneven as it all did on WWE Raw.
