WWE Super ShowDown 2020 Preview: Start Time, How To Watch, Match Card, Predictions

R-Truth vs. Rey Mysterio vs. Andrade vs. Bobby Lashley vs. AJ Styles vs. Erick Rowan – Tuwaiq Trophy Gauntlet Match

In possibly the most random match of the year, Raw stars R-Truth, Rey Mysterio, Andrade, Bobby Lashley, AJ Styles and Erick Rowan will compete in a gauntlet match where the winner will walk away with the Tuwaiq Trophy.

The match will see the in-ring return of Andrade following his suspension for violating WWE’s Wellness Policy. This comes as it was reported that his United States Championship reign could come to an end very soon.

Prediction: AJ Styles

I am predicting that AJ Styles will walk out of Saudi Arabia with the Tuwaiq Trophy for the sole reason that he is set for a huge WrestleMania match with The Undertaker.

AJ needs a big win if he is going on to WrestleMania to face The Undertaker, so I see him picking up the victory here.

The Undertaker has been pictured arriving in Saudi Arabia, so don’t be surprised to see The Deadman confront AJ Styles after his big win here.

Brock Lesnar (c) vs. Ricochet – WWE Championship

After defeating Seth Rollins and Bobby Lashley in a number one contenders three-way several weeks ago on Raw, Ricochet earned the right to challenge Brock Lesnar for the WWE Championship at Super ShowDown.

In his clashes with AJ Styles, Daniel Bryan and Finn Balor, Brock Lesnar has shown that he can have really good matches with smaller guys, so I’m quite looking forward to this one.

Prediction: Brock Lesnar

While the match might be good and I’m expecting to see Ricochet get some offence in, I really think this match is the easiest on the entire card to predict. Brock Lesnar is winning.

Drew McIntyre won the Royal Rumble and is set to challenge for the WWE Championship at WrestleMania. It goes without saying that Brock vs. Drew is a far bigger match than Ricochet vs. Drew, so I see Brock retaining at Super ShowDown.

Unfortunately, Ricochet has felt very much like an afterthought on WWE TV in recent weeks, so I expect Brock to make light work of the former NXT star before turning his attentions fully to McIntyre.

The Fiend (c) vs. Goldberg – Universal Championship

The Fiend defeated Seth Rollins at Crown Jewel in October 2019 to capture the Universal Championship. In his first trip to Saudi Arabia since winning the belt, The Fiend will defend against Goldberg.

It has been reported that WWE has been going back-and-forth about its plans for the Universal Championship match at WrestleMania, so it really is a 50/50 bet with regards to the winner of this match.

Prediction: The Fiend

This is more a hope than a prediction, but I really pray that WWE doesn’t have Goldberg defeat The Fiend here.

Granted, Goldberg vs. Roman Reigns is probably a bigger match for WrestleMania than The Fiend vs. Roman Reigns. However, I’d actually argue that Fiend vs. John Cena is the biggest match WWE can book for the big show.

John Cena is set to appear on SmackDown the day after Super ShowDown, so I’d have the leader of the Cenation attacked by The Fiend after retaining his Universal Championship against Goldberg.
