WWE Super ShowDown 2020 Preview: Start Time, How To Watch, Match Card, Predictions

New Day (c) vs. The Miz & John Morrison – SmackDown Tag Team Championship

After returning to the company at the beginning of 2020, John Morrison quickly reunited with former tag team partner The Miz. The pair will challenge New Day for the SmackDown Tag Team Championships at Super ShowDown.

This match was made after Miz and Morrison won a four-way number one contenders match that also featured Heavy Machinery, Lucha House Party and The Revival.

Prediction: The Miz & John Morrison

I think that The Miz and John Morrison should and will walk out of Saudi Arabia with the SmackDown Tag Team Championships here.

It is too early in their run as a team to beat Miz and Morrison, and New Day has had a rather lacklustre reign with the belts since picking them up from The Revival several months ago.

Allowing Miz and Morrison to win here could potentially set up matches with the likes of The Revival, The Usos and even New Day at either Elimination Chamber or even WrestleMania.

Roman Reigns vs. King Corbin – Steel Cage Match

Because this feud seemingly cannot end, King Corbin and Roman Reigns are set to go one-on-one at the third consecutive main roster pay-per-view. This time in a steel cage match.

It was King Corbin who defeated Roman Reigns at TLC back in December 2019, while Roman Reigns got some retribution the following month at the Royal Rumble. Hopefully, this match at Super ShowDown will spell the end of this boring feud.

Prediction: Roman Reigns

While WWE higher-ups clearly like King Corbin, they certainly have much bigger plans for Roman Reigns heading into WrestleMania, so I really don’t expect “The Big Dog” to walk out of Saudi Arabia without a win at Super ShowDown.

Dolph Ziggler had been pictured flying into Saudi Arabia despite not being announced for a match, so I’d potentially expect him to have a part to play in the match.

While it is unclear whether Roman Reigns will be challenging for the Universal Championship at WrestleMania, I predict he will have a big part to play at the show, so I think he’s walking out of Super ShowDown with a big win over King Corbin.

Bayley (c) vs. Naomi – SmackDown Women’s Championship

History will be made at Super ShowDown as a women’s title match will take for the very first time in Saudi Arabia. This comes after Lacey Evans and Natalya had the first women’s match in the country in October 2019.

This match was booked after Naomi defeated Carmella in a singles match on the most recent episode of Friday Night SmackDown.

Prediction: Bayley

It has been reported for a number of months now that Bayley will defend the SmackDown Women’s Championship at WrestleMania against her best friend Sasha Banks. If this is the case, she will obviously retain her title at Super ShowDown.

However, a report emerged last week suggesting that with Banks a doubt for the show through injury, WWE is considering having Naomi vs. Bayley at WrestleMania.

Regardless of WWE’s plan for WrestleMania, I see Bayley walking out of Super ShowDown with the SmackDown Women’s Championship.

Murphy & Seth Rollins vs. The Street Profits – Raw Tag Team Championship

In their first pay-per-view defence, Seth Rollins and his disciple Murphy are set to defend their Raw Tag Team Championships at Super ShowDown against The Street Profits.

This comes after Angelo Dawkins defeated Murphy in singles action on Raw this week, while Montez Ford just came up short in a match against Seth Rollins.

Prediction: Seth Rollins & Murphy

This match isn’t that easy to predict for me. I think that Seth Rollins will be involved in a singles match at WrestleMania, likely against Kevin Owens, meaning he will probably drop the tag team titles before the big show.

I could certainly see WWE having Street Profits pick up a surprise win thanks to Kevin Owens assistance before ‘Mania before going on to defend their belts against The AOP on “the grandest stage of them all”.

However, I see the title change happening at Elimination Chamber rather than Super ShowDown. Therefore, I’m predicting that Seth Rollins & Murphy pick up the win here.
