AEW Stars Called Out For Trying To Stay Relevant With ‘Phony Bulls**t’ AEW

NJPW star Clark Connors has addressed the numerous Bullet Club splinter groups, calling Bullet Club Gold out for being ‘phony bologna bulls**t’

There are a number of factions in different promotions which, while not officially affiliated with the Japanese faction, feature Bullet Club alumni who have very similar brands.

These include WWE’s The OC faction, with former Bullet Club members AJ Styles, Luke Gallows and Karl Anderson joining forces with Mia Yim in late 2022.

Another group which further blurs the lines is AEW’s Bullet Club Gold, which is led by former Bullet Club leader Jay White, who joined AEW after he was defeated in a ‘Loser Leaves NJPW’ bout in February.

Speaking with Fightful, Bullet Club member Clark Connors argued that White created Bullet Club Gold in an attempt to stay relevant:

“I think, that one in particular, is Jay White doing everything he can to stay relevant going over to a new company. Same with Juice.

“Doing whatever they can to stay in the spotlight, taking up those Gunn boys, doing whatever that is. I don’t watch a lot of it, to tell you the truth. I think it’s kind of phony bologna bullshit, to tell you the truth.

“The only real Bullet Club is the one that’s in New Japan and it’s helmed by David Finlay.

“That’s the reason for the Bullet Club, the idea of the Bullet Club is pissed off foreigners who wanted to take over and make a mark for themselves in Japan and that’s exactly what we, the War Dogs, are.”

Connors also targeted AEW’s The Elite for ruining Bullet Club, noting:

“It’s great that people want to keep using our branding, even the OC, they want to use our branding. That’s great, and good for them, but they’re not the real Bullet Club.

“The Elite, whatever they think of us, the Bullet Club in my opinion, truthfully, they ruined the Bullet Club.

“Those guys made it into something that was cool for a bunch of otaku nerds and gets them involved and gets them excited, but realistically, that’s not what the Bullet Club is. It’s not going home and playing video games after work, you know?

“It’s not being friends with all the Japanese audience after the fact. No, it’s going out and kicking ass, dude, doing what you want. I’m happy they’re not around because we got the real Bullet Club in New Japan, the War Dogs.”

The Elite and Bullet Club Gold will clash at AEW All In London at Wembley Stadium, with Kenny Omega and Hangman Page to team with Kota Ibushi to face off against Jay White and Juice Robinson, as well as Konosuke Takeshita.
