FTR are officially staying with All Elite Wrestling, with the two being committed to a long term deal with the company after defeating the Gunns to capture the AEW World Tag Team Championship on last week’s AEW Dynamite show.
FTR began their second reign as the AEW World Tag Team Champions, and Dax Harwood made sure to pay special tribute to his friend Jay Briscoe.
Taking to Twitter to share a photo of his newly won title, Dax revealed that the nameplate on his championship does not feature his name, but rather the name of Jay Briscoe.
Briscoe tragically passed away on January 17, 2023 following a car accident in Laurel, Delaware.
FTR and the Briscoes took part in an iconic trilogy of matches last year, a series which won them the award for Feud of the Year in the Wrestling Observer Newsletter awards.
Jay’s brother Mark has since been able to make appearances on AEW television, with him set to team with Jeff Jarrett, Jay Lethal and Satnam Singh on tomorrow night’s AEW Rampage.
Dax recently explained the decision to re-sign with AEW.
