On tonight’s Dynamite, the crowd started chanting for the absent former AEW World Champion, MJF, without him being referenced.
During the main event segment of Dynamite, there was an AEW World Championship contract signing that featured chants for the former champ.
With Samoa Joe in the ring with Swerve Strickland, they were exchanging words ahead of their upcoming AEW Championship match at Dynasty.
Swerve Strickland referenced AEW as a place that major signings wanted to be (echoing an identical statement in the opening segment of the show from Adam Copeland) and noted Kazuchika Okada, Mercedes Mone and Will Ospreay.
It was then that the crowd began chanting, ‘MJF!’ as Swerve took a pause.
While MJF remains off of AEW television, he has been widely reported to have already re-signed with the company and rather absent due to injury.
He re-appeared online just today to send a message to Dwayne ‘The Rock’ Johnson. You can click here to read more about that.
Elsewhere on tonight’s Dynamite, the show started with a fiery promo from Adam Copeland seemingly responding to CM Punk’s recent comments about AEW.
