Adam Copeland has won the TNT Championship on tonight’s episode of AEW Dynamite (March 20) in Toronto against Christian Cage.
There was another title change on tonight’s edition of AEW which saw the match start on Dynamite and finish on Rampage.
Tonight’s episode of AEW Rampage is airing live directly after AEW Dynamite and featured an exciting start to the show as the overrun of the main event made for a title change to open the show.
The main event of Dynamite was a TNT Championship match featuring Christian Cage defending against Adam Copeland in an exciting ‘I quit’ match.
There was brawling throughout the arena, including an enjoyable hockey fight in a penalty box, and after borrowing a pair of jerseys from the audience, the pair went back into the ring for more carnage.
With multiple wild spots including Cage seemingly choking out Copeland with a hockey stick and Copeland returning the favor by using the same stick and then his pants drawstring to choke Cage, things got even wilder after the addition of interferences.
First was Mother Wayne who appeared and gave Copeland a ‘low blow’, and not long after were Nick Wayne and Killswitch who attacked Copeland, allowing Mother Wayne to slap him.
However, Daddy Magic Matt Menard and Daniel Garcia would run out to make the save and help Copeland out, including Garcia holding the ladder as Copeland took a flying leap onto Killswitch and Nick Wayne on the outside of the ring.
Eventually Killswitch and Nick Wayne would end up handcuffed to the corners of the ring, effectively restraining them from further interference.
This left Mother Wayne alone in the center of the ring, surrounded before she just ran away in lieu of getting cuffed.
With Cage facing punches from Menard and Garcia, Copeland would hit Cage with a spear before the trio handcuffed Christian to another corner of the ring.
After repeated low blows in the corner with Christian still refusing to quit, the match got more violent.
It was then that Copeland revealed his previously discussed weapon that he debuted on Collision, ‘Spike’.
After one hit to the groin and the threat of another to the head with Spike, Christian Cage quit.
The third hour of tonight’s show featured Adam Copeland winning the TNT Championship to open Rampage.
