A new gameplay clip has been shared for AEW Fight Forever, ahead of the console game’s anticipated release later this year.
The new clip, from IGN Fan Fest 2023, pays homage to ‘one of the most important matches of AEW history’, with actual gameplay footage from the upcoming AEW Fight Forever game intercut with moments from Hangman Page and Bryan Danielson’s AEW World Championship match from the January 5, 2022 edition of Dynamite.
In terms of gameplay footage, we got a look at the title card showing the match rules, and a brief peek at entrances. Several major spots were recreated from the real-life bout, including the Deadeye on the outside of the ring, and Danielson reversing the Buckshot Lariat into his Busaiku knee signature.
This match was notably the second in Page and Danielson’s rivalry, with their previous encounter at Winter Is Coming 2021 going to a 60 minute time-limit draw.
While no official release date has been announced for Fight Forever, Andrew Zarian recently reported that the game is currently slated for a release in Q2 of 2023, which would mean April, May or June.
