AEW star Sting has posted a heartfelt message of thanks following his final ever match in Los Angeles, California.
In the Full Gear 2023 opening match, Sting teamed up with Darby Allin and Adam Copeland to defeat Christian Cage, Nick Wayne and Luchasaurus.
Following the match, Sting received a standing ovation from the crowd inside the KIA Forum, with his son Steven Borden watching on in the front row.
Taking to Twitter to share thoughts on the emotional occasion, Sting would post a heartfelt message of thanks as well as sharing a video of a moment he got to share with his son off camera (see below).
Sting tweeted:
Thank you again, LA, for all of the memories over all of the years!
I’m going to miss you all. How great it was to have @StevenBorden85 with me at #AEWFullGear!
The cherry on top.
While it’s known that Sting will wrap up his storied career at Revolution 2024, it’s currently unclear how many more times he will compete in between now and then.
Revolution has not yet been given a firm date, but has traditionally been held in March.
