AEW has no shortage of announcers for their four shows, with Excalibur, Tony Schiavone, Taz, Jim Ross, Paul Wight and Chris Jericho serving as the commentary team, with William Regal, Caprice Coleman and others making regular appearances at the desk as well.
However, one name that is still out there who is an accomplished announcer is Mauro Ranallo, who left WWE back in 2020. Ranallo was on commentary for the big title vs title match between Kenny Omega and Rich Swann last year, but hasn’t been used by AEW since.
Dave Meltzer was asked about whether or not AEW had considered bringing Ranallo back in, to which Meltzer confirmed that discussions between AEW and Mauro’s management had taken place ‘some time back’.
Meltzer didn’t mention whether or not an agreement was reached, so there is still no confirmation that Ranallo will be heading to AEW soon, but the company has reached out to him.
There was a conversation with Ranallo's management some time back. https://t.co/P8YvlwrOJw
