At the first AEW House Rules, there were strong indications that the Tony Khan-led company is making the most of its content opportunities.
On the Wrestling Observer Daily Update, it was revealed that AEW Dark banners were on display at the March 18 house show in Troy, Ohio.
Not only were there banners, but they were filming matches taking place on the show which saw more than 3,000 seats filled for a card that featured Powerhouse Hobbs vs Christopher Daniels for the TNT Championship.
The idea of AEW filming content from its house shows was touched upon by FITE COO Mike Weber on a recent podcast appearance where he discussed the likelihood of WWE streaming house shows.
At the Troy, Ohio show, ROH’s Bobby Cruise was on ring announcing duties for the show.
Wrestling Observer Daily Update reported that the show was close to a sell out, with just around 200 tickets still remaining for the 3,400 seat set up.
Whilst some fans did note that there was a lack of variety in the merch, it is no doubt being considered a success for a debut live event.
The first AEW House Rules show featured the return of a previously-injured star.
