Big Title Change At AEW x NJPW Forbidden Door 2023

Big Title Change At AEW x NJPW Forbidden Door 2023 AEW

There was a big title change at tonight’s AEW x NJPW Forbidden Door pay-per-view after an intensely brutal battle in Toronto.

With the IWGP United States Heavyweight Championship on the line, Kenny Omega put his IWGP United States Heavyweight Championship on the line against Will Ospreay in what turned out to be a bloody affair.

While it was expected that this blood feud would reach new heights of violence, both men were draped in crimson masks by the end of the match.

In the final third of the match, it was through an interference from Don Callis (who earlier had been thrown out but returned to ringside), who passed a screwdriver to Ospreay behind the referee’s back that seemed to seal Omega’s fate.

With Ospreay using the screwdriver to stab Omega, it was seemingly all but over, yet amazingly Omega was still able to break the pinfall by getting his foot on the bottom rope.

Omega would shortly thereafter go on to kick out of a One Winged Angel after only a count of one, although the ‘Cleaner’ Omega would eventually fall victim to the ‘Aerial Assassin’ Ospreay.

After a sequence of the Hidden Blade and the Storm Breaker, Ospreay was able to finally beat Omega to recapture the IWGP United States Heavyweight Championship.

Elsewhere slated for tonight’s pay-per-view, a dream match between Bryan Danielson and Kazuchika Okada will main event.

In the night’s opening bout, MJF retained the AEW World Championship after sending out a hilarious scheduled tweet mid-match.
