AEW Star Aligns With Tag Team, References WWE Run AEW/WWE

A new allegiance formed on the January 8 episode of ROH TV, as an AEW star joined forces with a tag team.

On November 27 it was reported that former WWE star Lacey Lane had signed with AEW, over a month after her impressive showing in her Dynamite debut match against then TBS Champion Mercedes Moné and several in-ring showings in ROH.

Now, a month after her last appearance on ROH TV, Lane appeared in a new role: accompanying CRU’s Action Andretti and Lio Rush to the ring for their own in-ring return on the brand.

Following their win, CRU & Lane spoke with Lexy Nair and the former WWE star made it official by telling Andretti and Rush that she’s now found “her CRU”.

Referencing her past success in a tag team, Lane said:

“Boys listen, I’ve been a part of one of best tag teams that ever existed and I came here to start a new journey I came here to find the best, and watching you two, I like what I see.

“Y’all match my crazy pretty well, so I’m happy to tell y’all I think I found my CRU.”

While Lane didn’t name names, her comments were likely in reference to her success alongside Katana Chance in WWE – with the pair winning both the NXT and WWE Women’s Tag Team Titles across an almost five year run together.

Both Lane and Katana Chance were released by WWE in May 2025, with Chance yet to return to wrestling since her departure.
