An AEW star has announced his departure from the company today (June 22).

Fuego Del Sol has been a part of AEW since he won a contract on the first episode of Rampage in August 2021.

He was presented with the contract by his real-life friend Sammy Guevara after losing a TNT Championship match to Miro on the show.

Today, Fuego took to Twitter to announce that his time with AEW is set to come to an end on July 1.

Fuego thanked everyone in the promotion in the video, looking back positively on his time in the company.

He wrote:

Thank you AEW.

Though this chapter is coming to a close, this is just the beginning for Fuego Del Sol.

Now accepting bookings any and everywhere!

Fuego had been out of action with a foot injury, which he announced in the video that he had been cleared from.
