A current champion was pulled from a recent scheduled match in AEW after coming down with an illness.
Current IWGP Tag Team Champion Kyle Fletcher recently appeared backstage on the May 10 episode of AEW Dynamite, where he laid out International Champion Orange Cassidy, seemingly setting up a future match between the two.
Fletcher then went on to defeat Action Andretti at the Rampage tapings that night, but he was not in action at this week’s tapings.
Per Fightful Select (subscription required), Fletcher was originally scheduled to be in action at the May 17 AEW tapings, but was pulled after coming down with an illness.
Fletcher and Mark Davis of Aussie Open captured the IWGP Tag Team Championship from Bishamon back at NJPW Sakura Genesis on April 8.
