An AEW star has responded to a fan saying that they should return to WWE as their old character, noting that it ‘run it’s course’.
In 2019, Goldust left WWE at the end of his contract, with him quickly signing with AEW, facing off against his brother Cody at the inaugural AEW Double or Nothing event.
Dustin has remained with the company since, with fans often speculating about a potential WWE return after Cody Rhodes‘ return to WWE back in 2022.
Taking to Twitter, one fan told Dustin that he should bring Goldust back to the company ‘immediately’, to which Dustin disagreed.
Dustin noted that, while he loves the character, he believes it run it’s course prior to his departure from WWE.
He said:
Nope! I never got a raise there. What, you want me sitting the bench doing nothing? That ain’t me anymore. I have done the best work of my career with @AEW.
I love the character Goldust, but he ran its course. I did what I was told and it got me nowhere. No thanks.
