AEW Star Reveals He Has Been Sidelined AEW

A current champion in AEW has announced that he has been sidelined after he missed a scheduled appearance at last night’s TripleMania show.

Current ROH Six-Man Tag Team Champion Brian Cage was originally scheduled for a Latin American Championship match at last night’s AAA TripleMania XXXI event, but was replaced in the bout by Texano Jr.

Taking to Twitter, Cage recorded a video from a hospital bed, where he revealed that he has been briefly sidelined.

He said:

“Well, well, well, I was planning on coming down to Mexico, as I said. Return to Triplemanía in a big way for that Latin American Championship. Getting all my sh*t in, all the spotlight, match of the night, all that stuff I always say. Picking up the scraps between Pentagón (Jr.), Q.T. Marshall, Dralístico, all that jazz. Welp, hmm, things don’t always work out the way we want them to and I’m currently in the E.R. right now with inconsiderate patients playing their Instagram videos in the background on full volume.

“But, it’s okay, I’m still alive, I’m still kicking. But unfortunately, it doesn’t look like I’ll be making my flight or my scheduled matchup for Triplemanía this Saturday which, I wish I was joking, I wish I was lying, I wish this was part of the plan but unfortunately, it’s not so, yeah, I was booked to be there, I was planning on being there, I was planning on becoming the new champion but, obviously I’m not pulling any strings, this is what it is, this is where I’m at, this is where it’s going so, there’s always next year or hopefully a lot sooner than that. So, either way, at the end of the day, who better? It’s still nobody.”

The four-way match between QT Marshall, Pentagon Jr, Dralistico and Texano was won by QT Marshall, with him capturing his first championship in five years.

Cage is currently a part of the Mogul Embassy on AEW television alongside Swerve Strickland, AR Fox and the Gates of Agony.

Swerve and Fox are set for a tag team Coffin Match against Sting and Darby Allin at All In at Wembley Stadium.
